GOALS: Energy

Indicator 3: Increase the funding for the development of alternative fuels.

While there are many known sources of alternative energy, all of their applications have not been fully explored. Behrend's largest school is the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, and thereby is in a unique position to expand the knowledge base of alternative energy sources/usages. Further incorporating energy efficiency into curriculums would help spread the knowledge/application of alternative/efficient energy sources.

Behrend also has a large research and outreach program that can aid in alterative fuels research and application and disseminate the knowledge to the larger community. Engineering majors can continue work on designing energy efficient processes, and share those processes with local companies through outreach.
